HOMEMADE ELECTROLYTE DRINK
There are many brands of electrolyte drinks commercially available today but making your own is a more economical option. You can pick up powdered calcium magnesium mixtures at most pharmacies, health food/supplement stores or you can also easily order it online.
I use a green tea as a base for my homemade electrolyte brew and steep it with dried stevia leaf for when I want more sweetness.
Tip: Coconut water is amazing to bring quick hydration to the body as it is a natural source of sodium and potassium if you need quick electrolytes.
Ingredients:
1 quart base liquid - you can use green tea, flavored herbal tea, or plain water
1/8 -1/4 tsp Himalayan salt
1 tsp calcium/magnesium powder - here is one on Amazon.
Stevia sweetener (to taste)
Preparation:
1. Brew tea if using, or slightly warm the base liquid.
2. Add Himalayan salt, calcium/magnesium and stevia powder (if using). Mix well until the additions have dissolved into the base liquid.
3. Cool and store in refrigerator for up to four days.
